Monet’s museum and gardens in Giverny

Situated between Paris and Rouen the village of Giverny plays host to the charming museum dedicated to Claude Monet. The museum, which was once the artist’s house and studio, exhibits some reproductions of his paintings and a collection of Japanese prints put together by the artist himself.
The garden, with its magnificent colours changing with the season, is divided into two separate areas, the "Clos Normand" rich of tulips, daisies and roses, and the "Jardin d'Eau", a garden in Japanese style where it is possible to admire the beautiful water-lily pond which inspired many of the artits’s paintings.
